PURITY WITHIN

Bismillah hir Rahman nir Rahim

May Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎  shower His blessings on the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. 

May Allah سبحانه و تعالى  be pleased with all the Prophets, Sahabahs, Tabi'un. May Allah  سبحانه و تعالى‎ have mercy on the souls of all the righteous individuals of the ummah.

How does one gain inner peace and enlightened spirituality within.....?

Many individuals are lost in life and seek other means to lose thought of this temporal life through intoxicants and entertainment. These current materialistic engineered societies we live in only thrive for this world. When we get used to living and breathing in the societies we live in we tend to think and act on what we hear and see. This affects our connection with Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎ . 

Many people are lost into this dream and lose out on gaining true inner peace within the soul.  Actions are done without contemplation and understanding. We become robots not knowing the reason why we pray or do many actions in our regular religious duties.

A individual will never gave inner peace and elevated spirituality until he understands and contemplates on his actions.

Taking Salah [prayer] for example, many people just pray like its a systematic ritual with no meaning or its an obligation that needs to get out of the way. It’s become a routine for people which lacks a higher level to feed the soul and enrich the heart.  The same could be said with fasting, reading the Quran and doing dhikr.

If one continues to do these acts without thought then they will never get the benefits that these acts offer. One well never be able to purify the soul and gain a higher status and closeness to the Al Mighty Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎.

How many of us complete the Quran during ramadhan several times and yet we have not even read the tafsir or the translation?  

Yes reading the Arabic has its rewards but how are you able to follow the lessons and guidelines in the Quran without understanding what you are reading. How will you learn about our lord and the meaning of life!

[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded. [39:29]

Deep thought and reflection is the key to gaining closeness to Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎ . Its important to read the Quran with understanding and try to implement the life guideline.

Concentration will be improved on another level when you actually start to understand what you are reciting. For instance in salah we recite surah fatiha several times during the day but how many of us understand the meaning. 

Surah fatiha is like a super dua, which is split for the individual and for Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎.  When we are reciting Surah fatiha we are gloryfing Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎  and then we are asking allah for continuous guidance in life.

If we use this understanding through our salah then our concentration and appreciation will increase.

When we pray salah we have to try to focus and understand that we are facing our lord. It is time to communicate with Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎  in order to get closer to him. We must stand with humbleness and prostrate with humility and submission. 

"It is the believers who are successful: those who are humble in their prayer" 23:1-2

Dhikr is another aspect we need to focus and rectify. When we are reciting and gloryfing Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎ we really need to dig deep into what you are literally saying.

Subhanallah – Glory be to Allah.

Allahu Akabr- Allah is great.

When mentioning Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎   names learn the meaning of the name so when you recite a name you know what attribute of Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎   you are referring to.

Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way. 17:110

The more you create these feelings in your heart the stronger you will become. Without these feelings in the heart you will never benefit from any act and will become like a dull flower devoid of spark and life.

May Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎  make us of those that are close to him and help us to eradicate our personal desires

May Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎   give me and you the ability to act upon what i have said. Ameen.

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min ‘adhabi jahannam, wa min ‘adhabil-qabr, wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat, wa min fitnatil-masihid-Dajjal.  Allahumma ‘inni ‘a’udhu bika minal ma’thami wal maghrami.

O Allah! I seek Your protection from the torture of hell, and I seek Your protection from the torture of the grave, and I seek refuge with You from the mischief of life and death, and I seek Your protection from the mischief of Dajjal pretending as Messiah.  O Allah! I seek refuge in You from sin and from debt.
